Production Management

The Operations and Business aspect of putting on a theatrical production.

Responsibilities include overseeing the budget, schedule, and management of all technical personnel, facilitating communication between the artistic and technical teams, and overseeing safety within the production.

This work has given me hands on experience managing large scale projects with significant budgets and sizable teams. My experience with production management includes:

  • Production Manager for Spring Awakening and Oleanna at Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, Spring 2013.
  • Assistant Production Manager for Carnegie Mellon School of Drama's Sweeney Todd, Spring 2012.
  • Assistant Production Manager for A Number, Still Life with Iris, and The Festival of New Works at Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, Spring 2011.

Stage Management, Snow, and Socialism

Tony Kushner's Slavs

As Stage Manager, I was responsible for communicating schedules and other relevant information to the cast of five, design team, and technical crew. During this process, I explored the role of technology for stage management by utilizing an iPad and other resources with the goal of using as little paper as possible. This process involved optimizing the workflow for various processes in the stage management field, including blocking and cue calling. The most successful implementation of this was creating a calling script on my computer that was flexible to use and quick to edit during the tech process.
